Mount Mora Cemetery is the oldest cemetery in St. Joseph, Missouri. It was founded in 1851 by Simeon Kemper, Israel Landis, and Reuben Middleton. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places - an usual honor for a cemetery - it is the burial place of three Missouri governors, two pony express riders, architects, musicians, writers, gardeners, inventors, an English baronet, and soldiers of many wars. Mount Mora is connected to local, state, national, international, and galactic history.
