We’re sending one lucky teen to dine with YA author
Award-winning YA author Melissa De La Cruz is coming to St. Joseph on Monday, April 16, to give a public reading of her work at 7 p.m. in Kemper Recital Hall at Missouri Western State University. The free program and a book-signing reception afterward are sponsored by The Mochila Review, Missouri Western’s literary journal.
Sounds like a fun evening, right? Know what would be even better? A place at the dinner table with de la Cruz!
The library is seeking one teenage fan to send to dinner with the author and other guests invited by Missouri Western. The dinner is at 5 p.m. at II Lazzarone pizzeria, and our guest’s ticket is being covered by the library.
To qualify, fans must be 13 to 18 years old and answer the question below via private messaging to our Facebook page or at one of the library’s service desks. The lucky teen will be selected in a random drawing of entrants the evening of April 13.
Here’s the question: In de la Cruz’s Blue Blood series, Jack Force is the current incarnation of what angel?
For those who don’t know, de la Cruz has written more than 40 books and many of them have topped best-seller lists, earned numerous awards and have been published in more than 20 countries. Her new novel, “Love and War,” is a sequel to last year’s “Eliza and Alex,” which is a novel about the romance of young Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Schuyler.
