  1. Watch one of our movies

Did you know the library has THOUSANDS of DVDs? From current releases to hard-to-find classics, you can check it out from us and skip paying those high rental fees. And if we don't have what you want in, we can put it on hold for you. Check out five DVDs at a time and have a family movie night for free!

  2. "Test drive" books before you buy

Do you buy a lot of books? Check them out from the library first, then only buy those that you can't do without. If we don't own a title you want, we can probably get it from another library through our interlibrary loan service. It's usually free and is a good way to get those hard-to-find titles.

  3. Listen to our music

The library also owns thousands of CDs! From pop, rock, country, classical and christian, we're sure you'll find something you're interested in. We also have audiobooks on cassette, CD and MP3 players- great for working out or long car trips.

  4. Browse our magazines and newspapers

Have you cancelled magazine subscriptions at home or stopped taking the daily paper? Come to the library to read current issues of your favorite magazines. We carry all the local papers, plus St. Louis, Des Moines and the New York Times. You can also check out back issues of magazines or access magazine and newspaper articles online through their websites or through one of our databases.

  5. Access the internet

We have free internet computers open for public use, or you can bring in your laptop and connect with our free WiFi. Enjoy the library and save money at the same time!

  6. Attend a program

The library offers free programming for everyone- we have special events for children, adults and seniors. Whether it's a computer class, author talk, book group, craft program, musician, movie or storytime, we will have something for you. Our summer reading program attracts hundreds of children each June and July and our winter reading program for adults grows each year. Check out our upcoming events and find something to suit your interests.

  7. Find a new job or learn a new skill

The library has many books on resume writing, job searching, and interviewing. We also offer test preparation manuals for the GED, CDL, civil service tests and more as well as online test-prep materials. Check out our helpful job search links or learn some new computer skills at one of our free classes held throughout the year.
