Join our new Goodreads page to find a good read
Look down at the bottom of the library’s website home page. That new “G” button just may lead you to your new favorite book, or at the very least some good books to read.
The button links users to the library’s page on Goodreads, a social website for members to share what they’re reading. We started the page with library staff as initial members and are looking to build membership through library users and their friends.
In Goodreads, members maintain personal “bookshelves” of what they’re reading, have read, want to read and their favorite books. Friends can see those lists and make comments. Members also can join reading groups that range in topics and size, from small (like our site, for now) to very large (like Harry Potter).
Goodreads also allows members to create polls, reading lists, book discussions and challenges, post photos and announce upcoming events.
“Gee,” you might say, “this sounds like something for me.” So, join us.
